Oil prices inch lower as pessimism gains traction

NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Market pessimism spilled over into Monday as doubts over production arrangements and slight declines in exploration and production brought oil prices lower.

Boys' and Girls' Brains May Show Opposite Effects After a Trauma

Traumatic events may affect the brains of boys and girls differently, a new study finds. Among boys in the study, a brain area called the anterior circular sulcus was larger among those who had symptoms of a trauma, compared with a control group of boys who did not have any trauma symptoms. The region is associated with emotional awareness and empathy, the researchers said.

Nigeria's inflation surged to an 11-year high.

Consumer prices rose by 18.3% year-over-year in October, according to data from the central bank, accelerating from the previous month's rate of 17.9%.

This was the highest rate since October 2005, and the 12th consecutive month it accelerated. The rate was in line with the median Bloomberg estimate.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Paul Ryan is telling GOP lawmakers that it's time to "join forces with the new Trump administration."

In a letter to colleagues Ryan adds: "We need to seize this moment, and come together like never before."

Tesla just jacked up the price for its entry-level Model S (TSLA)

Tesla's Model S is about to get a little pricier.

Tesla is increasing the base price of the Model S by $2,000 as of November 22, the company announced Friday in an email. That means the Model S will soon start at $68,000 as opposed to $66,000.

Tesla gave no explanation for the price change, saying in the email only that "now is the time to get behind the wheel of a Tesla for as low as $737/month."
