L.A. Artists Clamdiggin Bring the Outdoors Into Their Bohemian Home

0
Photography by Roy Beeson “There isn’t one spot in our house that doesn’t bridge ‘work’ and ‘play,’” says designer-artist Alexandra Fisher of her West Hollywood home and work studio. “Instead of rooms, I like to call them ‘stations’ — I think it makes living a little bit more colorful when you’re able to say, ‘Honey, I’m in the music station,’ as opposed to ‘the family room.’’’ In total, Fisher, who co-founded clamdiggin, an artistic studio, with her husband, Kevin Johnson,  has seven “stations” in her house, excluding the bedroom, bathrooms, and kitchen. There’s the field-journaling station (complete with a microscope and nature books — Kevin is also a biologist), a drawing station, a music station, a station dedicated to ink drawing, the painting station, the sewing station, and finally the spray-painting station.
