Transportation group backs toll lanes on Interstate 77

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A regional transportation planning group in Charlotte has endorsed moving ahead with plans to include toll lanes on Interstate 77 north of the city.

Multiple media outlets reported the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization voted Wednesday to continue supporting toll lanes.

The transportation department said a vote against I-77 toll lanes could be interpreted as opposition to all toll lanes.
