Police officer beaten up on Red Road

A man in uniform became the target of sudden wrath of an supposedly mentally disturbed man in the Maidan area on Thursday when the accused whacked the sub-inspector on head with a wooden stick, lying on the road to build fences for the Republic Day parade, apparently without any provocation. The same day, a security guard at the container yard in the Port area was attacked by a truck driver with a an iron rod.
