After dropping for nearly 20 years, the number of public school students in B.C. is up this school year. About 5,000 more students enrolled in public school this year than last year, due to families moving to B.C. from other provinces, students returning to the public system from private schools, and higher than expected international immigration, the Education Ministry said in a statement.
