2016 Budget: National Assembly To Summon NSC, NFF
The National Assembly is set to invite the Ministry of Sports, National Sports Commission (NSC), the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appear before it to defend the 2016 annual budget estimate.
Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Obinna Ogba, made this development known in a chat with Daily Sunsports in Abuja.
He said the house committee would be impartial in drilling the representatives of the Sports Commission, NFF and other agencies in line with the parliamentary procedures.

He said: “We have just started debate on the budget proposal.
“We are going to officially write the National Sports Commission (NSC), Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and agencies under the Sports Ministry very soon.
“I can tell you it will not exceed this month because we are doing everything possible to pass the budget as soon as possible.”
The Senator also praised Preseident Muhammadu Buhari for hosting Nigerian sportsmen and women in a dinner at the state house in Abuja.

“I feel so good that President Buhari honoured our sportsmen and women. Essentially, it is even more gladdening that it happened during my time as the chairman Senate Committee on Sports,” he said.
“The reception was even delighting, considering the fact that he was able to redeem the promise he made as military head of state to the Kodak Cup-winning 1985 U-17 team.”
The Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari fulfilled a 30-year-old promise which he made to the victorious 1985 Golden Eaglets squad.
Buhari on Thursday, January 21, rewarded members of the nation’s U-16 football team that won the 1985 FIFA championship when he was military Head of State with N2 million each.
