South Africa further asserted their control of the fourth Test against England before rain stopped play less than an hour into the final session of the day with a second-innings lead of 381 runs on 248 for five in Centurion on Monday.

Hashim Amla lost his wicket shortly following the resumption of play after tea with Stuart Broad (1/33) denying him of his second century of the match with the former South African captain out on 96 runs.

Amla edged a wide delivery to wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow with England finding the breakthrough after they battled to take any during the second session.

Temba Bavuma undefeated on 78 runs was at the crease with Quinton de Kock (9 not out) before the rain delay.
