North Yorkshire Police has been granted a sexual risk order by magistrates for the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
He has not been convicted of a sexual offence, but police believe the public needs protection from him, according to The York Press.
The man from York must tell police if he plans to have a relationship or a one-night stand.
Sexual risk orders can be made by a court on an individual “who poses a risk of harm to the public”.
