Virginia Port Authority uncommitted to connector project

The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/1PNtLuH ) reports transportation planners had been under the impression that the port authority would construct and fund the Craney Island Connector that would provide access to Virginia International Gateway to help with freight travel time.

Port authority spokeswoman Cathie France said during a Thursday Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization meeting that the commitment to fund the project was made under a previous administration.
