Almost All The Top Officials In This Texas Town Were Arrested For Corruption

Nearly every top elected official in a small Texas town was arrested last week after being accused of accepting thousands of dollars in bribes and helping an illegal gambling operation, according to a Feb. 4 release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

On Thursday, five officials from Crystal City, Texas, were arrested -- the mayor, mayor pro tempore and city manager, as well as one of three city council members and a former city council member -- along with 38-year-old Ngoc Tri Nguyen, a Texas businessman accused of operating illegal gambling facilities.
