The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti state called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to probe the activities of the Governor Fayose.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the activities of Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Vanguard reports that the party made the call in a statement issued by Taiwo Olatunbosun, the party’s publicity secretary.
The APC accused the governor of awarding contracts to his family members and business associates to swindle the Ekiti state funds.
Olatunbosun listed in the statement instances of cloudy deals through which the governor allegedly awarded questionable contracts to his family members.
“Dothraki International Limited, a business name owned by one of Fayose’s sons, was contracted for the projects on road signs and Christmas lights within Ado Ekiti in December last year.”

The party also urged the anti-graft agency to look closely at the execution of the new airport and market projects in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
According to the APC, Fayose was using his business associates as fronts to misappropriate the state’s money like he did during his first term regarding a poultry project.
Reacting to the allegations, Idowu Adelusi, the governor’s chief press secretary, said:
“Contract for construction of the airport project is yet to be awarded by the government because compensation to the land owners are yet to be paid.
“During the open bidding done recently, airport project was not of the projects bidded for. I advised the Ekiti APC to look for another lie to tell.”
A month ago, the APC took a swipe at Governor Fayose over his Christmas trip to Dubai.
The party said that it was the height of irresponsibility by the governor to embark on private comfort abroad while state workers had not received salaries.
