Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers state has reiterated that his administration’s ban on public procession of any kind is still in force in the state.

Governor Nyesom Wike ordered the arrest of any pro-Biafra protesters in Rivers state.
Therefore, no group by whatever name is permitted to embark on public procession in the state under any guise.
A statement by Simeon Nwakaudu, special assistant to the state governor on electronic media noted that the governor has directed security agencies to ensure that no group by whatever name should embark on any procession in the state.
He also directed the security agencies to take appropriate measures to ensure that all law-abiding citizens carry out their lawful businesses without molestation
The governor also directed the security agencies to stop any group from outside the state from coming to the state to embark on processions.
He called on the people of the state to cooperate with the security agencies in the maintenance of law and order.
