US warplanes strike Libya’s Sabratha, over 40 killed

US fighter aircraft carried out air strikes early on Friday morning in the western Libyan city of Sabratha, killing as many as 40 people, the city's mayor said. New York Times, citing a western official, said US jets carried out the attack targeting a senior Tunisian operative of Islamic State.
