News just reaching Naij.com indicates that four persons in the early hours of February 19 burnt to death in an auto crash that occurred along Lokoja-Okene road.

The Kogi state sector commander of the federal road safety corps (FRSC), Ogochukwu Ugboma, who spoke with Vanguard, said the accident which involved two J5 commercial buses with registration numbers Katsina KZR 321 ZT and Plateau XB 609 JTA occurred at a spot in Irepeni village.
The sector commander said the victims were among the 14 passengers onboard the affected buses, adding that seven other passengers sustained serious injuries.
Ugboma said three other passengers made it out of the unfortunate incident without sustaining injury, adding that those that were injured have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja for medical attention.
He said sleeping while driving could be a possible cause of the unfortunate incident that happened at about 5.00am.

Considering the spate of accidents on federal government roads across the country, it should have been dawn on the minister of works, Babatunde Fashola to come up with measures that can help curb and facilitate rescue operation whenever these unfortunate incidents happen on the express road.
