On Tuesday, Febraury 16, the Nigerian Army continued its offensive operations of destroying all Boko Haram terrorists remaining camps and enclaves around Alagarno and Sambisa forests.
The, troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion patrol team, cleared Boko Haram camps located at Komala, Dole, Kumshi and Moadori around the fringes of Alagarno forest.
The Cameroonian communications minister Issa Bakary on Tuesday, February 16, announced that Cameroonian and Nigerian troops have taken a key base held by Boko Haram in northern Nigeria, killing 162 insurgents in the process.
Speaking in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, Bakary said that the assault against the Islamists insurgents in Goshe, near the Cameroonian border, lasted from Thursday to Sunday.

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Wednesday, February 17, attacked Kuda village of Madagali local government area of Adamawa state.
The terrorists killed at least 6 people and razed more than 20 houses in the attack. An elderly woman was also reportedly burnt to ashes in the raging inferno. Eyewitnesses said that the heavily armed insurgents invaded the village on foot and carted away some valuables.
On Wednesday, February 17, Nigerian troops of the 7 Division Garrison comprising 112 Battalion and Armed Forces Special Forces carried out a joint clearance patrol on suspected Boko Haram terrorists locations at Kwaptara, Mijigete, Garin Boka, Mosole, Ngubdori, Ma’asa, Dukje, Gulumba in Dikwa and Bama local government areas of Borno state.

On Thursday, February 18, the Nigerian army gained victory over the insurgents within the northeast, following a surprise attack launched by troops close to the Sambisa forest.
The army reports that in continuation of their exploits against the Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion, intensified offensive actions against the terrorists.

During the course of the week, the United States of America commenced at Jaji, Kaduna the training exercise of about 750 soldiers selected from various units of the Nigerian army.
The training was in fulfillment of the US’s promise to assist Nigeria combat Boko Haram insurgency. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 145 Battalion training, at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, the US Ambassador James Entwistle, emphasised the need for other nations to join Nigeria fight against terrorism.
