Another Nigerian striker joins CSKA Moscow

Super Eagles striker Aaron Samuel has joined Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow, the club have announced.

The 21-year old moved to the club on a season long loan, with option to make the move permanent in the summer.

CSKA Moscow is Samuel’s fourth club outside Nigeria following spells with Vålerenga and Sarpsborg before he moved to the Chinese league.

The player was linked up with the Army men at the club training camp in Marbella and has been handed the number 99 jersey for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

However, after the failed bid during the January transfer window, surprise English Premier League leaders Leicester City have set aside £23million for Nigerian attacker Ahmed Musa in the European summer transfer, according to the Mirror.

It would be recalled that CSKA Moscow rejected a $21.6m (£15.1m) offer in which Leicester were poised to improve the fee up to the tune of $27m (£18.9m) valuation of the forward, with Manchester United also keen on landing the striker before the close of the transfer window, but to no avail.

CSKA are currently top of the Russian Premier League and face Dynamo Kiev in the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League with reports saying that the management of the club still need the services of the Nigerian atleast till the end of the season.

The Foxes are still very much interested in the Nigerian and have prepared an improved £23million bid for the Nigerian.
