The White House Will Preview Slave Drama Underground as Part of Black History Month Celebration

According to a release, the screening will also include a panel discussion with the cast and creative team, which includes executive producer John Legend, Christopher Meloni and executive producer Anthony Hemingway, (The People vs OJ Simpson).

The series is billed as an "escape thriller," based on the true story of the Underground Railroad - a network of safe houses and people including whites and freed blacks that helped others escape slavery into Northern states and Canada where slavery was illegal.
