Okonjo-Iweala on her visit to Ethiopia
“Innocent children were killed under her watch”
“They killed Nigerian children by diverting money under her watch,” those were the words of Samuel Ola Bakare who was furious that Iweala was helping Ethiopian children when many Nigerian children reportedly perished under the Goodluck Jonathan administration in which she served.
Tajudeen Muyiwa also echoed Bakare’s claims saying: “Heartless woman! She didn’t see the need to improve the lots of Nigerians she impoverished through unbridled corruption under her watch as the minister of finance and coordinating minister of economy. She has forgotten that if she is not brought to book in this world, she would account for all the atrocities in the hereafter.”
Another furious Facebook user, Serenagold Onaibre said: “How has she affected the lives of agwashi uku people”.
Uwaoma Sonma took the argument a bit further, saying: “She can’t help Nigerians, maybe she is targeting their finance. Ethiopia should be careful of minister of mismanagement, all she knows is to blow big economic grammar that has no effect in youur country’s. economy.”

In line with what Sonma had said, another user named Uche Anazodo Zodos said: “The Ethiopians should be very careful with her before she warms her way into the government circles to be in a position to wreck their economy for them. Africans are yet to know who is who among certain individuals occupying positions in government whose interest they protect and who their pay masters are.”
The great woman whose potentials Nigeria has refused to utilise
Amarachi Ugochi Hisgrace extolled the potentials of Iweala, while taking a swipe at Kemi Adeosun the current finance minister. “Great woman since 9ja doesn’t need u anymore please fly higher and higher internationally, I always see you at the top,” Amarachi said. Adding: “But have you heard the latest change from the present finance minister? 16+6=24.”
Ikpoaku Odinikpoaku Nwaku who reacted to Iweala being called a corrupt official, told other users to desist from labeling the ex-minister as corrupt. Ikpoaku argued that even President Muhammdu Buhari has said he has no prove to persecute her.
On her part, Mirian Igwegbe noted that complaining all the time will not solve the Nigerian problem. She stressed that the incessant complaints of Nigerians is a factor which is impeding growth of the nation. She concluded by warning that Iweala be left alone as to allow the focus remain on the present administration and what can be done to deliver change.
