David Mark
The senate were in a happy mood on Wednesday, March 2 over the swearing in of David Mark, the immediate past Senate President.
As soon as he walked in, the senators clapped at his arrival as they welcomed him back into the senatorial wing.
After he was sworn in, he walked to Bukola Saraki, the Senate President to give him a handshake.
Senator Barnabas Gemade who represents Benue north east senatorial district showed his happiness over the return of Mark by hugging him twice.

Other lawmakers who were all smiles stood by the aisles as Mark walked through shaking hands with his colleagues.
Also sworn in as a senator was Ahmad Salam Obembe to represent Kogi central senatorial district.
He took over from Mohammed Ohiare after a rerun election
David Mark on the other hand has been in and out of the court over his annuled election which caused a rerun and has been elected for a fifth term in the Nigerian senate.

He polled a total of 84, 192 votes to defeat his challenger, Daniel Onjeh of the APC who polled 71, 621 votes
The rerun was conducted after the Appeal Court annulled the March 28, 2015 election of which Mr. Mark was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
