Mr Wale, father of one of the kidnapped students of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, Adamo, Ikorodu, has spoken up on events that happened two hours before the incident.
In an exclusive chat with Naij.com on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, the man who tried to brazen up after his girl was picked up by unknown gunmen alongside two others at the school premises on Monday night, stated categorically that the girl spoke with her mother about two hours before the incident.
While expressing belief that the girls would be found soon, he expressed disappointment in losing his first child and only daughter to abductors at such a tender age.
“Her name is Deborah, she is 13 years old and was in SS2, Science department. She is the first of my three children and the only daughter that I have.

“I never believed that I would be in such a dilemma until we were notified about the ugly situation. The mother is somewhere there (pointing at another section inside the school compound) and cannot just do anything about the situation right now. We are both helpless,” Mr Wale explained quite bravely.
According to him, the family had no premonition of what was coming, despite the fact that they had only had a conversation with her barely two hours before they got a call about the incident.
He said: “We did not have a premonition that anything was going to happen that night because she had spoken with the mother at about 6.00pm same day.
“Nobody ever thought anything of this nature would happened. The school management would never have been able to do so much about it because even notable Nigerians have been kidnapped in time past. We have left everything to God as it stands now because there is little or nothing we can do about it.”
The unknown gunmen said to be about 10 in number had reportedly stormed the institution’s Adamo boarding house at about 8.00pm on Monday after breaking through the fence surrounding the institution.

Naij.com gathered from sources within the institution that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had put a call through to the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to ascertain the true state of things and the latter had replied by saying that the state was “on top of things”.
During the visit, our correspondents saw the deputy governor of Lagos state, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule and her entourage leaving the school premises after visiting to ascertain the level of damage done to the school and students.
The school principal also refused to speak with all the journalists who had thronged the institution to find out the true state of things in the school as he was said to have been busy receiving guests and dignitaries.

As at the time of filing this report, police patrol vehicles were seen parading the area as well as OP MESA van as they were reportedly trying to ward off any repeat of the attack and ensure tight security measures are put in place in the school compound.
Meanwhile, in his reaction to the incident, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state has promised to ensure that the three female students kidnapped are safely released.
In a statement signed by the commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, the governor said the police and other security operatives have swung into action, with useful leads and will bring he culprits to book soon.
