Kandi councillor abduction report unsatisfactory: High Court

Calcutta high court, on Wednesday, came down hard on the state police for its failure to file a satisfactory report on steps taken against those accused of abducting an independent councillor of the Kandi Municipality in Murshidabad. Debojyoti Roy was allegedly abducted by the Trinamool Congress in a bid to skew the equation against chairman Apurba Sarkar of the Congress and force him to resign through a no-confidence motion.
