Woman conceived quadruplets. When she gave birth to them, the doctors were stunned!

Depending on IVF or In-Vitro Fertilization, couple Josh and Miranda Crawford had their first baby. As they wanted to have more children, about three or four, they decided to try their luck again and turned once more to IVF. And so after a year of having their daughter Joslyn, doctors transferred two embryos in Miranda’s uterus.

After six weeks, the couple can’t be happier when they heard that they are expecting twins. Little did they know that they are in for a much grander surprise – four days later after the announcement, doctors said that the couple are expecting not only twins, but quadruplets.

Though it was a very exciting news, Miranda feared that she may have difficulties with her pregnancy. She believed she might have a miscarriage or give birth prematurely. Even so, Miranda successfully gave birth at 34 weeks, with the quadruplets all normal and weighing around five-and-a-half pounds each.

But the happiness does not stop there, for the doctors have some greater news. Miranda did not only gave birth to quadruplets, but they are two sets of identical twins – twin girls and twin girls. Dr. James Grifo said, “Embryo splitting occurs approximately in one out of 100 embryo transfers. The chance of this outcome is approximately one in 10,000. This could also occur in a natural conception, but the chance of that is much rarer.”

Overwhelmed with the blessings they got, Miranda and Josh cannot help but express their joy and excitement with having a much bigger family.
