Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero says he will leave Manchester City for only his boyhood club Independiente after the 2018 World Cup.

The Argentine’s contract runs until 2019, by which time he would be 30 years old.
“In the last few months a lot of things have been said about a new contract, but I didn’t pay any attention,” he told radio station Independient en la Uno. “It’s clear to me that when my contract ends, after the World Cup, I’m going to Independiente.”

The striker said Manchester City had always left the door open for him if he requested a transfer but says hs heart is with the club until his contract runs out.

“Here at the club they are great with me, they always told me that they were open if the chance of a transfer arises. But where am I going to go in Europe?
“No, when I go, when my contract ends, I’m going to Argentina to play for El Rojo. From Manchester, straight to Avellaneda.”
Aguero has scored 126 goals in 191 appearances for the Citizens since his £38m move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
