Scientific proof: Why husbands should stop blaming their wives for having only female children
– Nigerian husbands should stop blaming their wives because all their half a dozen children each one of them have are all girls
– Scientific research has dismissed the notion that women are the reason for having only female children
– There have been cracks in marriages just because the man wants a male child
One of the greatest disease that could befall anybody is ignorance. The ignorance about something has made people do things out of commonsense. It is a popular belief, especially among some Nigerian men that they have not become a father until they give birth to a male child or male children as the case might be.

It is however, an injustice on married women if they are seen as the cause of lack of boys in a marriage. This is not the case. Men themselves are the reason why their wives give birth to either a male or a female child. If a woman gives birth to a female child all the time she conceives, the man should know he is to blame.
sperms fertilising an egg
In the real sense of it, neither the men nor the women have got a fault, in which ever gender they have as children, If all their children are boys, there is a scientific fact for this. If they are all females, there is also a scientific proof for this. And if it is a mixture of both sexes, science also explains why.
The scientific proof in the type of sex a child comes up with is determined during fertilisation process. Fertilisation is what leads to pregnancy. Fertilisation occurs when there is sexual intercourse between a man and a woman, in which the man ejaculates into the woman’s Fallopian tube. When the man releases sperms/semen through the woman’s vagina, the over three million sperms, have sex chromosomes called ‘XY.’ However, the woman’s egg/ovum has sex chromosomes ‘XX.’
It should be noted that chromosomes could either be autosomes or sex chromosomes. The chromosomes are 23 pairs (22 pairs of autosomes and a pair of sex chromosomes), meaning, they are 46 in number. For a normal individual, he or she has 44 autosomes and two sex chromosomes (either XX or XY).
As the fertilisation process begins, if a man releases about five million sperms, half of the sperms will carry X chromosomes, while the other half will carry Y chromosomes. But a woman will always release an egg which carry an X chromosome during fertilisation.
Subsequently, the millions of sperm begin to move towards the X chromosome egg. When either of an X or Y sex chromosome first touches the egg, the other sperms die instantly. Therefore, if an X chromosome fertilises the X chromosome egg, the result is an XX zygote which will be later be given birth to as a female child (females have XX chromosomes). But if a Y chromosome sperm first hits the X chromosome egg, the result is a XY zygote which will later be given birth to as a male child (males have XY chromosomes).
Conclusively, this indicates that men are actually responsible when their wives give birth to female children all the time they conceive.
