Parched city - Water woes irk residents of outlying localities

Despite a record monsoon last year, only parts of the city enjoy sufficient water supply , with many projects still in the pipeline in outlying areas.Even after the corporation took over 42 local bodies five years ago, water supply has been reserved only for the old city which amounts to only about 40% of Greater Chennai's 426 square kilometres. ​
