MBBS entry test - Experts divided on natl medical entrance exam

Reacting to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's objection to a centralised common entrance exam for medical admissions, colleges and medical experts in Tamil Nadu believe that the state would be better off with a system of its own to carry out admissions into medical colleges. However, some pointed out that it was high time that an entrance exam at the state level is conducted. Tamil Nadu currently has no entrance exam as students are given admission based on their Class 12 marks.
