Tip off leads to R1.2m drug bust
Four suspects appeared in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s court following a drug bust which netted R1.2 million in drugs.
|||Cape Town - Four suspects appeared briefly in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s court on Friday following a drug bust which netted R1.2 million in drugs, Western Cape police said.
The two women, aged 40 and 48, and two men, aged 21 and 39, were arrested at a house in Marina da Gama on Tuesday.
Polices spokesman Andre Traut said police members had received a tip-off about the possible delivery of drugs to the house.
“The members proceeded to an address in Dabchick Road, where the residence and a blue Toyota Corolla were searched. The police came upon an amount of tik inside the house and more than 30 000 mandrax tablets were found stored in the Toyota Corolla,” said Traut.
“The narcotics have an estimated street value of R1.2 million.”
