Why obese people have higher risk of breast cancer

Researchers have found out why obese people have a higher incidence of breast cancer: peritumoral fat (the fat around the tumor) facilitates the expansion and invasion of cancer stem cells (CSCs), that are responsible of the onset and growth of the tumor. The study has been published in Cancer Research journal.
