On March 19, 2015 Inview Technology was appointed by Nigeria’s government run National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to enable digital switchover from analogue throughout the country and provide a Conditional Access System, set-top box software and services including full EPG, Push Video-On-Demand, a range of broadcasting applications such as news, public service information and audience measurement services over the digital terrestrial and satellite networks in Nigeria
But the CEO of Inview Babatunji Amure has being mentioned in the corruption mess rocking the NBC and is being interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Meanwhile, the management of Inview has said that it has thrown its weight behind the ongoing federal government’s anti-graft war being prosecuted by EFCC.
A statement signed by the company’s chairman Nick Markham and made available to Naij.com, stated that: “Inview Technology Nigeria Limited (Inview) is proud to be supporting the Nigerian government in the Digital Switch Over (DSO) programme and is committed to helping the NBC deliver a whole range of free digital channels to the Nigerian population.
To ensure that the DSO programme is managed correctly, Inview respects and supports EFCC’s investigation of payments relating to DSO. As part of the EFCC investigation, allegations have been made in the press concerning actions that the Inview CEO, Babatunji Amure may have taken. Inview has taken these allegations seriously and has held extensive discussions with the EFCC Senior Investigating Officer who confirmed that Inview is not accused of any involvement in this matter. EFCC has confirmed that the allegations related to Amure’s role as CEO of D-Vine and therefore any actions Amure may have taken would have been wholly outside the scope of his employment with Inview. The EFCC has also confirmed that the investigation has no impact on Inview’s work with the Nigerian government concerning DSO. Inview will continue to support and assist the EFCC during these investigations.”
