ED asks 17 PSU banks why they converted 20% of loan into equity

Widening the probe into funding of Kingfisher Airlines, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has asked 17 public sector banks to explain why they agreed to convert around 20% of their loan into equity at a time when the carrier was faltering.
