Previously, the APC in Kano has threatened to suspend the ex-governor for deliberately organizing a “violent rally”during his condolence visit to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje over the death of his mother. Mr. Doguwa has made a u-turn on Saturday, saying his previous statement was influenced by the party leaders’ coercion.
He said: “I was coerced to sign [his previous public memorandum] under duress. Having reviewed the reaction of the earlier press statement, I and other officials of our party deemed it necessary to take corrective measures to preserve unity, cohesiveness, and to jealously guard our hard earned victory in Kano State. We have observed with great concern the reactions from our party members, and indeed the general public, which turnout to be negative.”

Meanwhile, Mr Kwankwaso denied all the accusations and warned Abdullahi Ganduje to stop using President Muhammadu Buhari’s name as cover for his administration’s “obvious weaknesses” and “strive to concentrate on facing the enormous challenges of governance such that, perhaps, he may also be revered and respected by the good people of Kano State” instead.
