Man knocked down by taxi in PMB

A man was critically injured when he was knocked down by a taxi in Alexandra Road, Pietermaritzburg, paramedics said.

Pietermaritzburg - A man was critically injured when he was knocked down by a taxi in Alexandra Road, Pelham, in Pietermaritzburg, on Saturday afternoon, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying against the pavement, spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said.

“Upon assessment it was found that the man, believed to be about 30 years of age, sustained head injuries and multiple abrasions. Paramedics treated the man and transported him to the Edendale Hospital.”

A passenger in the taxi also sustained minor injuries during the incident. The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was treated and transported to Northdale Hospital, Bodasing said.
