Gunmen kidnap National cecretary of Urhobo youth leaders association, Comrade Vincent Oyibode and his wife.
The national secretary of Urhobo youth leaders association, comrade Vincent Oyibode, was on March 21, kidnapped alongside his wife, Mrs. Precious Oyibode by gunmen between Oviorie-Orerokpe road, Ethiope East local government area, Delta state.

Confirming the story, national president of the association, chief Western Adehor said the incident occurred within Oviorie and Orerokpe road at about 11.pm when Oyibode and his wife were returning from Abraka.
He said the kidnappers in their numbers intercepted their Pathfinder Jeep and whisked them to unknown destination.
“We the members of the Urhobo Youth Leaders Association have reported the issue at the Orerokpe Police Station in Okpe Local Government Area and still doing all we can to secure their release. But the kidnappers are demanding for N10 million ransom before they can release them for us,” he said.
Senior executive assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on security, comrade Godwin Okporoko, who is also the national vice president of the association said the state government was working round the clock to secure their release.
The state’s police command is yet to make an official reaction to kidnap of the national secretary of the association at the time of filing this report.

The state’s police command public relations officer, CSP Celestina Kalu did not answer her cell phone as at the time she was contacted.
However, a source at the Orerokpe police division who don’t want his name in print confirmed the story.
Meanwhile, in neighbouring Edo state, the wife of former Speaker of state’s House of Assembly, Hon. Zakawanu Garuba, Hassana, who was kidnapped has regained freedom.
Hassana, a Chief Magistrate with the Edo state judiciary, was freed by the kidnappers with three other victims, including two medical doctors who were randomly taken from a commercial bus the same day she was taken.
