Irom Sharmila acquitted in 10-year-old suicide bid case

Rights activist Irom Sharmila was on Wednesday acquitted of the charge of attempting suicide at Jantar Mantar in 2006. The trial court held that no charge was made out against the Manipuri activist under Section 309 of IPC (attempted suicide).
