Lions hooker Coetzee out for four months
The Lions’ solid start to the season received a setback when it was announced that hooker Robbie Coetzee will be out for about four months.
|||Johannesburg - The Emirates Lions’ solid start to the season with three wins and only one loss, received a setback on Wednesday when it was announced that hooker Robbie Coetzee will have to undergo surgery and will be out of Super Rugby for about four months.
Coetzee suffered a knee injury earlier in the season and underwent surgery on Wednesday morning.
Coetzee was prominent in the Lions’ first match against the Sunwolves as well as in their loss to the Highlanders in week three, but he has not featured since then.
The surgery, according to a statement released by the Lions, would repair damaged cartilage in his knee.
The Lions play the Crusaders at Emirates Park on Friday night.
