A 37-year-old barber, identified as Adelopo Yusuf has been nabbed for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old primary school pupil in Papa Ajao area of Mushin, Lagos.

The incident which occurred on Tuesday, March 29, started got a packet of biscuit from the suspect on arrival from school.

According to Vanguard reports, the young girl had met their apartment locked with the whereabouts of her older siblings unknown and since she was hungry, she went to Yusuf’s shop to wait for her siblings.

He reportedly gave her biscuit and accompanied her to her parents flat, which was still locked and it was during the process of waiting that the barber laid her on a bench and had canal knowledge of her.

After messing up the young girl, he cleaned her up with a rag before taking her back to his shop, where she continued waiting until one of her older siblings arrived.

Bubble however burst after the little girl narrated what happened to her sibling who reported the issue to their parents.

The barber denied the girl’s allegations against him, the doctor’s report from Mushin General Hospital stated otherwise, confirming that the girl’s hymen had been broken to show that there was a penetration.

Yusuf was consequently arrested by police officers and at about 5p.m on Wednesday, March 30, the case was said to have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba.

Lagos state police spokesperson Dolapo Badmus, confirmed the incident, explaining that investigation had started on the case.
