Tope Aluko, ex-ally to Gov Fayose claimed the Ekiti election was rigged
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital on Wednesday, March 30, Aluko said Governor Ayodele Fayose is only running away from his shadows following his (Aluko’s) startling revelations on how the June 21, 2014 gubernatorial elections in the state was rigged, This Day reports.
The embattled Ekiti PDP secretary had on a Channels Television programme on January 31, alleged that Fayose got the sum of $37 million to use the military to rig the state’s governorship election which returned him as governor of the state.

Aluko said: “The APC has been petitioning me and it came as a rude shock to me when the government (Ekiti state government) said that I’m Judas. They are the Judas anyway, because they betrayed me. I am still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to him, the petition which landed him in custody was written by the APC and he spent 12 days in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), five days with the police and another five days with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives.
“During the interrogations, I was asked so many questions and I answered truthfully. I gave them the answers, because I said I wanted to do restitution and that is what I’ve done.
“So if Lere is now saying that somebody is a Judas. It is Lere that is the Judas. I know what transpired between me and Lere but I won’t say it here, and Governor Fayose, if he is running away from his shadows that is his problem,” he added.
Earlier, the Ekiti state government had accused Aluko of allowing the APC use him, saying he is making millions from the opposition in a bid to remove Governor Fayose.

The special assistant to the Ekiti state governor on public communications and new media, Lere Olayink, accused Aluko of feeding the police and the DSS with lies against the PDP.
He said: “Aluko and his likes can continue to run from pillar to post. All their efforts will come to naught. Like the Biblical Judas, we will all live to see how those treating him like their man Friday will dump him.”
Several development have followed Aluko’s confession about the rigging of Ekiti election which include the alleged invasion of the state House of Assembly by DSS operatives and arrest of some lawmakers who were detained for days and later released.
The Ekiti state government recently raised an alarm over an alleged plot of the APC to destabilize the state.
Lere said armed policemen from Abuja have already invaded the state to begin arresting PDP leaders, top government officials and members of the state House of Assembly, an aftermath of the failure of the DSS to coerce members of the state assembly to impeach Fayose.
