Fuel scarcity: See REAL fuel prices in different states of Nigeria (chart)
The National Bureau of Statistics has recently published average prices of petrol in Nigeria.
However, Nigerians, who reacted immediately to the released data, debunked the report, claiming that most people in Nigeria now buy petrol way above the normal N86.50 price.
They now buy as high a N232, waiting for hours in long queues under tough weather conditions.

According to a survey conducted by Naij.com here are prices of fuel at some filling stations across Nigeria
Plateau state – N221-232/ltr
Taraba state – 198-209/ltr
Lagos state – N129/ltr
Federal Capital Territory – N86 – 250/ltr
Ekiti state – N86.5 – 140/ltr
Nigerians who answered to our survey on how much petrol costs in their state also indicated that while the “new generation or small” fuel stations are more guilty of selling above the normal price, the “big multinationals” sell at normal price but have longer queues.
Ibe Kachikwu, minister of petroleum, has recently stated that despite government’s efforts to end fuel crisis, Nigerians will suffer the scarcity till May.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, had last week criticised Kachikwu, saying he should apologise to Nigerians for saying he does not have a magic wand to end the ongoing fuel crisis.
However, the minister made a dramatic U-turn saying that the long queues at fuel station will last till April 7.
President Muhammadu Buhari has given approval to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to take additional crude oil volume to guarantee the country’s supply of PMS.
