SA’s producer inflation quickens

South Africa’s producer inflation accelerated to 8.1% year-on-year in February from 7.6% in January.

Johannesburg - South Africa's producer inflation accelerated to 8.1 percent year-on-year in February from 7.6 percent in January, the statistics agency said on Thursday.

On a month-on-month basis, prices at the factory gate were up 0.8 percent, compared with a 1.6 percent rise in the previous month, Statistics South Africa said.

The market consensus for February PPI was 7.8 percent year-on-year.
