Could I Be Using My Time Machine More Effectively?

Before I invented the time machine, I had always dreamed of winning the lottery. I played every single week, but I never won. The first thing I did after I built my time machine was to go back in time and warn myself not to spend so much money on lottery tickets. I was a real sucker for thinking I could win.
