The runway extension work at the airport is expected to be completed four months ahead of its schedule. The extension of runway from the existing 2,250 metre to 2,905 metre, which was taken up in the end of last year, will allow the airport to cater to wide-bodied twin engine aircraft like Boeings and Airbus.
