And, on Passover, God Gave the Israelites Back Their Legumes
As you may have heard, God took the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. In their great haste to escape Pharaoh’s bondage, the Israelites had barely enough time to bake bread (for though the Lord miraculously split the sea, He somehow wasn’t able to help dough rise). From that time on, this hurried exodus has been commemorated with the weeklong spring festival of Passover, during which Jews eat their daily bread in unleavened form.
