In a speech to mark the celebrations of Her Majesty Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has disclosed that Queen Elizabeth II is a secret supporter of Arsenal.

Queen Elizabeth II celebrates his 90th  birthday on Thursday and Corbyn claims that the Queen could harbour similar affection towards the Gunners.

Speaking at the House of Commons, he said: “We all suspect her Majesty is, secretly, a Gooner. The Queen was due to open the Emirates Stadium in my constituency but had to pull out due to injury, a fate since suffered by many.”

However, Extra Time doubts: “If she is indeed an Arsenal fan,  they will be receiving a royal seal of approval any time soon, having again been forced to battle for a spot in the Champions League instead of the Premier League title.”

Telegraph notes that Arsenal have always had plenty of celebrity fans. In recent years the likes of Spike Lee, Mo Farah, Jay-Z and Prince Harry have all been spotted at games
