Following the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government, the Abuja metropolis witnesses crippling queues at filling station.
The subsidy was removed on Wednesday, May 11 and the minister of state for petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu and he promised that the removal will improve fuel availability.

He said the removal was necessary as he government realised that an open market will allow for competition that will drive down prices.
Naij.com went round some of the filling stations in Abuja on Thursday, May 12 and it was apparent that the fuel stations had complied with the new pricing.
However, queues were still seen in fuel stations as there is fear that the prices might still go up.
The situation is reportedly the same in Kaduna where it is sold for N145 which is also accompanied with long queues at filling station.
