The first conference of such format was held in Paris, France, on May 17, 2014, following the escalation of terrorists activities in Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon. Its purpose was to decide on joint steps for ending the Boko Haram insurgency, as well as rescuing over 200 abducted Chibok school girls.
The agenda of the second summit includes the issue of the Chibok girls, who remain in the Boko Haram captivity for 25 months, as well as relocation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
