Jaguares skipper Agustin Creevy was suspended Monday for one week after dangerously tackling the Shark's Jean Deysel in a weekend Super Rugby match.

The 31-year-old Argentina hooker will miss a round 13 fixture against the Golden Lions at Ellis Park stadium in Johannesburg this Saturday.

South African loose forward Deysel had to be stretchered off after the first-half incident.

Super Rugby judicial officer Robert Stelzner said he did not believe the tackle was intentional and the excellent disciplinary record of Creevy also played a role in the lenient sentence.

Another Jaguares, No. 8 Leonardo Senatore, was cited after the Sharks won 25-22 in Buenos Aires for allegedly biting the arm of rival loose forward Keegan Daniel.

A separate judicial committee will hear the case. – AFP
