Cape Town - Cops have found the 35-year-old woman who allegedly left a two-year-old boy at the gates of a local hospital.

Police have yet to confirm whether the woman is the mother of the toddler or if she will be facing any charges.

The woman was found at the weekend after intense investigations since the boy was found on Saturday last week.

Cops say the woman is suspected of having dropped the child at the gates of Tygerberg Hospital on May 7.

The woman told security staff she had found the boy wandering in the parking area.

The child was unable to communicate in any South African language for authorities to locate his parents or relatives.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso said if the woman is the toddler’s mother, she will be investigated.

“A 35-year-old woman was located who dropped off the two-year-old at Tygerberg Hospital on May 7.

“No one has been arrested at this stage of the investigation.
