Controversy! Buhari attacked, deemed unprepared for leadership
– Chief Ayo Adebanjo has said President Muhammadu Buhari is an under performer
– The Afenifere leader said Buhari was unprepared for the task ahead of him
– Adebanjo says Buhari is fighting corruption the wrong way
Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has rated the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as performing below average.
The Elder statesman and a leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, said that from every indication, President Buhari was never prepared for the office of the presidency before he came into power.
President Muhammadu Buhari has been termed as unprepared for his role as president of Nigeria.
According to the National Mirror, the elder statesman noted with great disappointment that the All Progressives Congress-led government has not been able to live up to expectation of Nigerians after one year in office, adding that Buhari did not do his home work very well before taking over the mantle of leadership in May last year.
“Buhari to me in the last one year has not been impressive,” he stressed.
Adebanjo, who admitted that, though, President Buhari has done well in his fight against corruption, however, expressed reservations for his clear disdain for the rule of law.
“Buhari he has done very well in anti-corruption crusade. But the only reservation I have about that is that he is doing it with disregard for the rule of law which I don’’t like, for instance, the ruling on Dasuki and some others. He can still get what he wants without disregard for the law. That is the minus I give him there,” he added.
Speaking further, Adebanjo pointed at some vital areas that the president should have improved on since he assumed power in May 2015.

“Even if he has not achieved anything in one year, of course I don’t expect him to achieve much in one year, but where is the programme? In health, education, works, nothing has since been done; no roadmap for the change that can be used to measure you.”
He said the state of the nation shows that the President failed to do his homework before coming into power.
“These are the things that are dragging back the quality of the universities now. What I am expecting is that Buhari should have done his home work properly before coming to power,” he asserted.
Pan Yoruba group, Afenifere has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to seek and end to the recurrent killings by Fulani herdsmen across the country.
In recent times, Fulani herdsmen now attack communities across Nigeria, killing people and destroying properties.
Reacting to the recent attack by the herdsmen in Enugu where 40 persons were killed, the group frowned at the silence by the Federal Government.
This was contained in a communiqué issued by the group yesterday, April 26.
“The meeting is worried about the recent spate of killings by Fulani herdsmen across the country as evident in Agatu killings, the murder of Olu Falae’s guard in his farm, the killings in Ibadan and the latest being the heinous murder of over 40 Nigerians in cold blood in Enugu.
“We are worried that Federal Government seems to have maintained indifference to the wanton killings going on across the country against the provisions of the constitution.
“That the Federal Government has a duty to protect the lives and properties of every citizen of Nigeria and we call on President Muhammadu Buhari to speak up on this matter and to take urgent action to restore the sense of people of Nigeria, especially in the South and Middle Belt.”
Also, Afenifere condemned the report of the Department of State Service (DSS) that claimed that the bodies of five corpses buried in a mass grave were Fulani herdsmen, saying the report was to create tension in the land.
