House of Rep in rowdy session over fuel subsidy (photos, video)
There was an uproar on Monday, May 16, when members of the House of representatives denied Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for petroleum entry into the lower chambers.
The minister was invited to brief the House of Representatives over the fuel hike from N86.5 to N145.
The House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, moved a motion to let Kachikwu in, but many lawmakers shouted him down. This prompted the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to put it to a voice vote which majority of the lawmakers started shouting “no” repeatedly and singing “all we are saying, save Nigeria”.
The House went into an executive session to reslove the matter.
