Donald Trump has countered allegations of sexism by touting his support for female employees, saying he loves hiring women because they work harder and because it seemed to him that “that there was something that they want to really prove.” Numerous studies and women leaders' own experiences show that Trump may be right — but if women do work harder, it may well be to combat sexism from men.
